Vertical  Videos

[ Right Back ]

This was a fun project I envisioned earlier this year. I wanted to choreograph a dance and film it with a different approach. So instead of filming a dance from a long-shot view, I decided to produce a visual that experiments with multiple shot types, emphasising the different dance moves choreographed.

I chose a 9:16 aspect ratio, also known as a vertical view. I did this because it is more compatible when sharing it through different media platforms since it takes on the view of a mobile phone, and therefore quicker to view and play.

Me and my friend Patri Sanchez, chose to dance to the song Right Back by Khalid

This was filmed by Karan Sangha.

Note: This is better to watch vertically on a phone.

[ Dream Girl ]

For my final year project, I explored new ways of producing content in today's digital age. I wanted to create a modern music video to show how music videos evolved over time. I chose to produce a vertical music video.

To make it as original as I can, I made my own song through Logic Pro X where I recorded string instruments like guitar and piano, and then I used Premiere Pro to edit, organise and colour grade the video. In terms of filming equipment, I just used a Panasonic Lumix GH5 with a tripod.

The star in this music video is Lulua Mohamed. Filmed by Karan Sangha

Note: This is better to watch vertically on a phone.

Music  Videos

[ I Was Made For Loving You ]

This is a music video I created with two of my other classmates in university. We used a mid saturated filter and editing that exposes bright/grainy style and exposure, giving that nostalgic 'Super 8' camera effect. To film, we used a SONY PMW 100.

I also performed and recorded the background music to match the video so it has a more 'studio' sound quality. To do this, I used Logic Pro X and a Marantz Mic Condenser, along with string instruments to record the music. We then edited and colour graded the clips in Adobe Premiere Pro.

[ Blessed ]

This is a music video I created with my friend in my 2nd year at university. After we recorded and edited the video, my friend added animations for my body movement and my surroundings as we wanted to make it look more enticing.

I used Logic Pro X to create a music track, covering one of Daniel Caesar's songs. I filmed this video with a Samsung Galaxy S8, along with a phone gimbal/stabiliser.

I edited the video on Adobe Premiere Pro, then sent it to my friend to create the animations on Adobe After Effects.
